Terms

Last updated 20 October 2026

By using ownwords you agree to these terms, an agreement between you and Ravora Apps (OPC) Private Limited of Chennai, India, which makes ownwords. They are short on purpose.

The service

ownwords is a writing notebook that asks you questions while you write. It never writes for you. It is still being built: features will change, and we may pause or limit things while we improve them.

Your words

Everything you write belongs to you. We claim no rights over it. By publishing a piece on your page you allow us to show it publicly at that address until you unpublish it. The questions the notebook asks are prompts, not content, and carry no rights either way.

Your account

  • You sign in with Google and are responsible for keeping that account secure.
  • One person per account. You must be 16 or over.
  • For now we approve accounts by hand and may decline or close one at our discretion.

Acceptable use

Do not use ownwords to publish anything unlawful, to harass anyone, to impersonate anyone, or to attack the service. We may remove published pieces that break this and close accounts that do it repeatedly.

Fair use of AI

Each writer has a daily limit on AI usage so the service stays affordable for everyone. When you reach it, the notebook goes quiet until the next day; your writing is unaffected.

Connected accounts

When you connect another network, ownwords posts there only what you choose to share, when you press Share, and follows that network’s own rules. You stay responsible for what you post, and you can disconnect at any time.

Pricing

ownwords is free for now. If we introduce paid plans, we will tell you clearly beforehand and nothing you have written will be held back from you.

No guarantees

We work hard to keep your writing safe and the service up, but it is provided as is. We are not liable for lost work beyond what the law requires, so keep copies of anything precious. Copying a piece out takes one click.

Ending

You can stop using ownwords and delete your account at any time, yourself in Settings or by asking us. We can end the service with 30 days notice, during which you can take everything with you.

Privacy

How we handle your data is in the privacy page, which is part of these terms.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest still applies.
